The Role of Bra Straps
A bra has two main purposes:
-
To support the breasts
-
To keep them securely in place
All breasts — regardless of size — have weight.
That weight should be properly distributed between the two key elements of a bra: the band and the straps.
Bra straps are responsible for only about 15–20% of the total support.
That’s why, if your straps are:
-
Digging into your shoulders
-
Causing discomfort
-
Constantly slipping off or needing adjustment
…these are early signs that your bra is either the wrong size/shape for you, or it’s simply worn out and no longer able to do its job.
